Farm / Sustainability
Pulses that earn their
place in the rotation.
Pulse crops fix nitrogen, break cereal disease cycles, and use water efficiently relative to many other proteins. These benefits support crop rotation on our farms and provide a source of protein for food and ingredient buyers.
On the Farm
A useful crop
in the rotation.
Lentils, Peas, and Beans reduce synthetic nitrogen demand in the following crop. The farmers we work with in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario grow them inside Canadian cropping systems that have spent two decades cutting tillage and improving soil cover. Quality at destination starts with how those farms are run.

Soil & Water
Reduced tillage and soil cover are practical parts of Canadian cropping systems.
In Our Operation
Recover value.
Use resources carefully.
We aim to move grain the shortest practical distance from farm to plant to port, and recover more usable product through cleaning.
Food & Ingredients
Pulses are high in protein and fibre and low in fat. They are a practical ingredient for plant-based foods, traditional staple diets, and feed rations that need a Canadian-origin protein source.
Product Recovery
Cleaning recovers a higher share of a lot as food-grade product instead of discounting it.
By-products
By-products from processing are directed to feed where food-grade use is not possible.
Measurement
We will report on energy, waste, and sourcing as those measurements become part of customer requirements.
